This is an image of the current Custom Game Lobby within the HTML5-based Bonk.io.

A Custom Game is where you can play in rooms hosted by other people, or you can make your own room. It offers the ability to customise various game options. This includes commands that can be used either by hosts, or by all players in a Custom Game.

It is unlike Quick Play, where the game is fixed on a single mode, and maps are automatically selected from a rotation.

Host Only Abilities[]

Only hosts of a Custom Game have the ability to:

  • Choose game modes to play in the room.
  • The ability to select and create maps to play. For more information regarding maps and how to make them, see the Editor page.
  • Select how many rounds are in each game.
  • Enable or disable teams mode.
  • Remove (kick) users from the room, move players between teams, or to spectator mode.
  • Set a password for the room.
  • Set the name of the room.
  • Use various other host-only commands, such as "/lock" and "/unlock."

Within the Current HTML5-based Bonk.io Only[]

  • Give up their host abilities to another player.
  • To change certain player's size by (nerfing / buffing) them.

Non-Host Only Abilities[]

All players within a Custom Game have the ability to:

  • Vote and Favourite / Unfavourite maps.
  • Move themselves between teams, or to spectator mode, if the host did not lock teams.
  • Use various all-player commands, such as "/mute <username>" and "/unmute <username>."

All players who aren't host have to ability to:

  • Suggest a map for the host to choose.

Trivia[]

  • Custom game was the only way to play when the Flash-based Bonk.io was first released in April 2016, as Quick Play was not introduced until a few months after its release.
