Death Hall are two maps that were featured within Chaz's Picks before it was replaced with the Community Picks, where neither of the maps made it within.
History of the Maps[]
Originally, when the work behind Chaz's Picks first started, the map 'death hall' by diamonds n cheese was selected, being created a few weeks prior.
About a month after it's initial edition to Chaz's Picks, the map by diamonds n cheese had swelled to over 13k upvotes, putting it within the top 10 highest rated maps in the game at the time. Sometime towards the end of 2016, or the beginning of 2017, the map was taken off the list and replaced with Chaz's simplified adaption of the map, called 'Death Hall Fixed' for unknown reasons.
As a result of the original map being taken off the list, it's growth was quickly stunted as a result. On the other hand, 'Death Hall Fixed' by Chaz quickly soared in popularity, with nearly 60k votes within 5 months of its creation, and continued to grow to where it is today.
Gameplay[]
Aside from minor differences with the spawn count, and visual differences between the two maps, both feature about the same gameplay.
Within each of the maps, there is a rotating platform with its centre of rotation slightly above it. As a result, players can cause the platform to sway back and forth, depending on where the players are within the platform. Players can also use the top and bottom rectangles within the rotating platform to bounce others off towards the sides of the platform, where there are deadly walls.
Possible Tips[]
- Within either of the maps, try to knock others towards the side the platform is leaning towards. This way, they would be more easily thrown into the deadly wall on that side of the platform. On top of this, it will make it harder for the other player one towards one of the deadly walls.
- Try to stay away from the edges of the platform, to prevent being killed by the deadly walls. However, this can be used to bait others into running into a deadly wall, though it is oftentimes a risky move.
- To bump other players with more force, try to bounce between the top and bottom rectangles so when one hits their opponent, the opponent will be hit with more force in whichever desired direction the player knocks from.
