Football Mode (soccer) is one of the oldest modes from the Flash-based Bonk.io and is one of the three gamemodes that were present within it through the end of its life, with the two others being Bonk and Volleyball. On the Flash-based Bonk.io, Football was generally considered as the second most popular mode after Bonk.
After a long period of time, it was added within the HTML5-based Bonk.io, during its Beta, known as Bonk 2 Beta on 19th September 2020. Currently, there is still no XP reward for winning matches for this mode within the HTML5-based Bonk.io.
Basis[]
The current design of the gamemode is likely based off in large part of the game Haxball.com, which was initially launched in 2010, well before when Bonk.io was first launched in 2016.

Premise[]
The premise of the gamemode is to score on the opposing teams net. The first team to reach the set goal on either side of the map wins the round.
Community[]

This is an image of Football from a gavesave from shortly after it was initially released within the Flash-based Bonk.io following the first changes made to the gamemode since its initial launch. The mode then only featured a basic design, with "buzzers" as goals, and if the ball touched one, the match would conclude. Lastly, the ball moved far more quickly due to the lacking of the kicking feature in Football in this version.
As a result of the mode's considerable popularity as a gamemode formerly within the Flash-based Bonk.io and to a lesser extent, the HTML5-based Bonk.io, a significant community centered around the mode and there are oftentimes Custom Game rooms playing solely this mode.
Players have communicated through Discord as well as Bonk to discuss clan matches and fixtures. There is also a community of players who make skins specifically for the Football mode. These skins are to represent the different kits for teams around the world.

Later Works[]
The basic design and layout of Football Mode is the primary inspiration for another one of Chaz's games, Supercar Stadium. This game was first developed and released in 2021. Another inspiration of this game comes from the popular online game, Rocket League.
