It has come to my attention over the last few weeks that there is someone or a group of people that have various harsh criticisms about me. Normally, I would not post about this, but this person or this group of people have never contacted me about the issue. Three people have told me a variation of these three criticisms, two in the past few days.
#1 I have a fake persona: Now this is less of a criticism, and more of an insult, but I am confused on this one. I don't have a fake persona, I act here somewhat similarly to real life. Obviously, I don't talk quite as formally in real life. I don't know how to address this exactly, because I can't prove whether I am acting 'fake' or how I am in real life.
#2 I don't take criticism: I disagree with this for the most part. Now, sure, from time to time I have taken a criticism badly, but when people created a new Wiki in protest and commented somewhat harshly on my skills, I stepped up and turned things around. I hired three new moderators, reformed the community guidelines, instituted harsher blocking guidelines, and created a Discord for the Wiki. I have plenty to do, and I am the first to admit that, but I became active again and am working on various ways to make the Wiki better.
#3 I don't answer the hard questions: This is the most valid criticism, and although I mostly disagree, I can kind of see where this is coming from. I think that when I say that I cannot speak about an issue, or that it is confidential, people think I am dodging. I am not, but because of my association with BCD staff and various other influential people, I am limited on what I can say, mostly to keep things private. I will in the future give a better explanation as to why I cannot disclose information.
Subsequently, if you have a criticism, DM me or put it on my wall, although I would prefer the DM. Just keep it civil and don't insult me. I have heard conflicting stories on who this is from, so if you have a problem, just tell me. Give me examples so I can improve.
