State of the Bonk.io Movie
I realise that many of you had been waiting for a set release date, more news, etc. To be honest, the release date has been pushed back so much that people would wonder if it would ever be finished. Well, I am here to speak on that. Progress has slowed significantly over the past few months, and Llama and I encountered a crippling flaw with our plan: the animation. Bonkio Master claimed that he could handle the project and animate it in a prompt manner, but this was not true. He could not show much progress for months, only small clips here and there. He was also unable to provide a timeline. Llama and I also slowed in our scriptwriting duties.
There was a drop in morale in September through December, as the film was clearly not going to release in 2021, we did not often talk about the film, and the voice acting situation looked abysmal. It wasn't any single problem but a culmination that led to where we are now. At the beginning of the year, I decided to post in the script discussion channel a message about the state of the film; I addressed Llama, Mewtwo, and myself, the three principal heads of the project. Llama and I agreed that the animation would likely take years and that the movie was off the rails, so to speak. Mewtwo never responded to the message- in fact, he has not been seen since mid-December.
With all of that being said, the film is indefinitely suspended, likely cancelled. It seems that Mewtwo cannot handle the animation, so the film cannot continue. Yes, something poorly animated with a simple plot like the original Bonk film could have been put together, but we wanted a quality story, which we, unfortunately, could not finish. It is a sombre thing to say and the end of an era, something that Llama and I have worked on for over a year and spent so much time in. Regards, GreenHood36
